2026 GSL Super Bowl rules

2026 GSL presents Super Bowl

PRIZES: The winner from each division will receive twelve (12) Super Bowl rings. If you need more, they are available for purchase for $10 each.

BAT TESTING: We will be randomly testing your bats. At ANY time, the UIC or Director may enter your dugout and pull your bat to be tested. A failed bat will be kept by the tournament directors and can be picked up AFTER your team either wins the tournament OR your team is eliminated. Any bat which tests under 200 psi will be documented. If that bat is used in tournament play again throughout the year, you will be automatically given a one year suspension.

BAT RULE: Only the new 240 stamp bats will be allowed.  Anyone caught using an illegal bat will be an out and ejected from the game.  Anyone caught using an altered bat will be ejected from the tournament. Please cover this in your pre-game.

BALL RULE: For this event, any PRO M or Classic M (besides the three listed below) may be used. Any ball used must have the USSSA or GSL stamp.

NO STADIUM OR ONYX BALLS ARE ALLOWED in USSSA/GSL tournament play.

Managers will be provided with two (2) balls upon check-in.

Short Porch Mortar 12” balls are available for purchase for $80/dozen, $45/half dozen or $8 per ball.

TIME LIMITS: 50 mins or 7 completed innings. No new inning will begin after time is expired.

Championship games will be 60 mins or 7 completed innings. No new inning will begin after time is expired.

ROSTERS: This is the first tournament of the year. Rosters will close on Saturday at 8am. All roster checks will be done by the tournament directors. If you are rostered checked and found to have an illegal player on the field, your team will forfeit that game and be given a 0-7 score.

C RUN RULE

25 AFTER 3, NO FLIP FLOP.

20 AFTER 4, NO FLIP FLOP

15 AFTER 5, NO FLIP FLOP

D/E RUN RULE

20 AFTER 3, NO FLIP FLOP.

15 AFTER 4, NO FLIP FLOP

10 AFTER 5, NO FLIP FLOP

A DHH (Designated Homerun Hitter) is allowed and can be anyone in your lineup. The DHH will remain the same for the duration of the game. If the DHH is walked, it allows your team a free home run until that DHH comes back up in the lineup. If the DHH is removed from the lineup, the DHH will be forfeited until that player returns. Your DHH may be changed after each game. Please circle the DHH at the start of the game. Once the first pitch is thrown, you CANNOT go back and make any changes to your lineup. You will lose the DHH spot for the game if not noted prior to the first pitch.

YOUR DHH CAN BE CHANGED AFTER EACH GAME.

HOME RUN RULE:

C: DHH plus five (5) home runs, per team.  All others are out.

D: DHH plus three (3) home runs, per team.  All others are an inning ending out.

E: DHH plus one (1) home run, per team. All others are an inning ending out.

HATS: A forward facing ball cap is the only hat allowed. No bucket hats. The only exceptions are fielders who wear a mask while fielding or pitchers who wear a mask, both whom are allowed to wear a backwards hat underneath their mask.

COURTESY RUNNERS: One (1) courtesy runner per inning (one time) may be used. The courtesy runner can be any player on the roster.  If the courtesy runner is still on base at the time his/her turn to bat comes up, that spot in the batting order will be an out. After the courtesy runner rule, we put in effect: If a second runner of the inning or one not from the lineup enters the game and the defensive team completes a proper appeal before the next pitch, or illegal pitchers’ action, intentional walk or before all fielders have left fair territory, the runner will be declared out with no further action. The pitcher does NOT get an automatic runner.

DUGOUT RULE: Only players, coaches and score keepers are allowed in the dugout.

ON DECK RULE: Only two on deck batters and 1 coach in each box, all others are to be in the dugout.

PROFANITY AND TAUNTING: This will not be tolerated and based on umpire discretion. This is your only warning. A director, UIC or umpire has the right to remove you from the field OR the park. Out of site, out of mind. This is your ONLY warning for the cursing as well.

BAT FLIPS: No bat flips OF any kind will be tolerated. This is your only warning you will get. A bat flip is at the discretion of the umpire.

10 PLAYER RULE Any team may start with 9 players, they must take an out in the 10th position and they may add the 10th player only at any time.

PITCHING: The pitcher must toe the rubber. The pitched ball must arc at least 5 feet from the ground before it passes any part of home plate. The pitched ball shall not rise higher than 10 feet above the ground.

There will be NO grace time added prior to game start time * Teams must have line ups in and be ready for play 30 mins before scheduled game time * GAMES WILL START EARLY!
